MAT9001 is a proprietary prescription-grade omega-3 fatty acid-based composition, comprised of a complex mixture of omega-3 fatty acids which has been developed for therapeutic applications, with severe hypertriglyceridemia (TG greater than 500 mg/dL) as the lead indication. Based on promising early data, the Company is preparing to file an Investigational New Drug Application (IND) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and conduct its first human study in mid-2014.
